Successful Blog Tips
While businesses and brands have started the blogging trend years ago, regular people are also continuing to blog. It’s not just for fun, though, as they are actually able to make quite a bit of money from it – as long as they manage to keep up the work, that is, and follow a few crucial steps.
Blogging is, in fact, not just about writing content and crafting together quick DIY’s for entertainment; a successful blog owner knows that it’s all about what’s happening outside of the blog as well.
If you’ve been considering starting a blog, you’ve come to the right place. Here is a handful of tips on what you should think about before you get started to make sure your new blog has a solid foundation for bringing in an extra income.
#1 Blog about what you know
It’s actually quite obvious, but the most successful blogs tend to draw readers because they have something valuable to share. They blog about what they know, whether it’s fashion, finances or food – and they give their readers something new every time.
That’s why you need to think about the areas you know and where you’ll be able to contribute as much as possible. Don’t just start a food blog because it looks like so much fun to take those pictures; unless your recipes are delicious, you’re not going to get much attention.
A business blog will often have traffic because they are a trustworthy source of information, blogging about what they know their readers are interested in.
Try to think about yourself and your own talents as a business and build a blog around this; if you’re great with money, you might want to start a frugal blog or, if you’re good at crafting, you should focus on this instead.
#2 Make it stand out
The Internet is, as you know, filled with blogs already. Some of them are great and knowledgeable – while others are more like a ghost town, sparingly updated with quick posts on whatever clothes the blogger bought six months ago.
If you want your blog to stand out in the crowd of mommy blogs, DIY-ers, and food recipes, you should try to make it as visually stunning as possible. Find a course on Illustrator training in LA, for example, and dedicate a bit of time on making your posts as well as your blog, in general, look professional.
It will definitely make it a lot easier for those potential readers to single out your blog as authentic and credible compared to those cluttered blogs with pop-ups around each corner.
#3 Add some social media profiles
The most successful blogs will have at least one thing in common: they try to draw you to their social media profiles. While each post on social media will link to their blog, their blog will link back to their profiles – and so the circle is completed.
Having a presence all over the web is important when you want to build a proper blog – and without it, you’re definitely not going to have the kind of traffic you’ve been looking forward to.
Keep in mind that just one social media profile is cutting it a bit short; you need to maintain a few of them, preferably on Instagram and Pinterest as well as YouTube if you’re able to make a few videos as well.
How far you’d like to take it is, of course, up to you. Just keep in mind that the hard work you put into your blog and all of those profiles tend to pay you back, in the future – and, if you want to make it as successful as possible, you need to keep everything up to date.
