Witchcraft Couture | Book Review

“Witchcraft Couture*” was my favorite part of the evenings for two weeks. Book gives very autumnal feel – from cover to atmosphere.I couldn’t remember the last time I have read a book But there was something compelling about the title that intrigued me. Witchcraft Couture doesn’t it intrigue you? When I was offered this book to read I couldn’t hide my excitement.

Brief Summary

Oscar Pellegrini is a talented fashion designer with a deadly enemy: his own critical mind. He destroys much of what he designs and has been drifting for years. A chance encounter with a former girlfriend triggers a creative crisis so deep that he escapes to Russia. Just when he thinks he has lost everything, he discovers a magical machine, called the Sampo, that can turn ordinary outfits into irresistible shining triumphs. Oscar takes the machine back to Italy – and before he knows it, he has become a fashion messiah Celebrities and socialites are fighting to wear his gorgeous garments. But the happily ever after ending turns into a nightmare, as he is haunted by his creations.

Is there such a thing as stolen genius, and if there is, can it turn against the very person who stole it?

Book is written in diary style from Oscars point of view. I thought it would take more longer time for me to understand the book because English is not my first language but Katarina (author of the book) has used easy going language. So I didn’t have to look too often in dictionary.

Oscar use to was it designer but now suffers from creative block. I must admit I found Oscar very annoying at the begging. While learing more about him you start to understand and relate to him. I enjoyed reading about fashion business,  with relationships and intrigues. Some parts go very dark. Author did amazing job with the details and setting the mood!

This book was my favorite part of the evenings for two weeks. I wish it wouldn’t end so soon! If you are interested you can get the book HERE.

What was the last book you have read? Maybe you have any suggestions to what should I read next? Feel free to leave a comment 😉
